It feels like it could have stepped off a current runway but has the added provenance of being such a well documented piece of vintage from one of the greatest of the modern designers
The bodice is cut to draping softly over the bodice with an inner foundation that leaves the upper shoulder area covered only in one layer of the silk chiffon
The top is chic and simple with a high rounded collar that is set back on the neckline
It is a classic trench in every way except the color
Incredible Fall 1979 Halston Runway Feather Light Green & Metallic Gold Lurex Dress w Original Belt designer-gucci Magnin Importers tag and itThe twin of this dress walk the runway for the Fall 1979 collection. It was made under the creative direction of Roy Halston. From what I am aware the dress was made in three colour ways. This green and gold version, a blue and gold, and a version that has a deeper gold and more brown feeling combination. It is from his main couture line and these would have been primarily made to order during this time period. This is an amazing couture Halston dress
