At a local level, data from a City of San Francisco Street Litter Audit revealed that 24.6 % by count of all litter items collected were from tobacco products (including butts, wrappers, and packages) [2]
Among students who reported they were currently using a tobacco product, 72.8% of high school students and 59.6% of middle school students reported using flavored products, including: 68.8% of current e-cigarette users, 46.7% of current cigarette smokers, 41.9% of current cigar smokers, 48.0% of current smokeless tobacco users, 31.2% of current hookah users, and 31.4% of pipe tobacco users
