The reinforced concrete school opened in Yubari in 1975 and closed eight years later as the coal economy emptied the city. Converted to group lodging by Yubari Kanko Kaihatsu Co., Ltd. in the mid 1990s, it was abandoned when the company filed for bankruptcy in 2007. Part of the
