A cool, wet winter gradually gave way to a spring marked by sustained, often stormy rainfall, falling unevenly depending on the layout and contours of each parcel. This was followed by a hot summer, punctuated by two heatwaves the first in early July, the second at the end of August which accelerated ripening across the vineyards. Along the coast, harvest began as early as
