Controlled by the engine management system, it regulates the flow of pressurised engine oil to the camshaft phaser (VVT actuator), advancing or retarding camshaft timing to optimise valve events across the engine's operating range. It seats in the cylinder head oil gallery that feeds the phaser. Suited to the V6 and V8 petrol engines.
