Multiple Knightia Fish woolly mammoth teeth Found in unconsolidated sediments ofA mini 'shoal' of fossilised Knightia fish in a limestone matrix, found in Fossil Lake, Wyoming, USA. The unusual chemistry of this region has led to Fossil Lake having the highest concentration of articulated fish fossils anywhere in the world, hence a collection of fish on one piece of limestone. This species is thought to be distantly related to modern day herrings and sardines. Eocene age, circa 50 million years old. Each full fish is approximate
