94 pts- John Gilman
this is a beautiful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon
I think we will see some good wines from Virginia vineyards for 2015
rounded out by cherry-laced Grenache and smooth
blueberry pie and warm plums plus suggestions of red roses
Pertinace - Barbaresco 1997 (750ml) Marsanne 94 pts- John GilmanMedium amber edged red. Red cherry and redcurrant aromas, along with notes of tobacco and nutmeg and an autumnal nuance. Sweet on entry, then oaky and nicely textured in the middle, with moderate depth. Here the tannins are bigger but finer, and the back end is nicely sweetened by the barriques Finishing notes of coffee and chocolate.
