LRT-12-045 - Fuel Injection Pump Gear Retainer – TDi C-Exhaust Flange Left-hand catch that secures theFuel Injection Pump Gear Retainer is a workshop special tool used when removing or refitting the fuel injection pump on the TDi diesel engine. It holds the injection pump drive gear in position within the timing case while the pump is withdrawn, preventing the gear from dropping out of mesh and preserving its alignment with the timing gear train. This allows the pump to be removed and replaced without disturbing the engine timing.
