Indigo/Baule Cloth Cushions 50x50cm RareFinds offering them a unique andA cushion made from indigo adire cloth possibly the most recognisable indigo textile of West Africa, attributed to the Yoruba of Nigeria. The cotton is tied tightly to resist the dye in places (the adire oniko technique), then dyed and hand beaten to set the colour. The indigo itself comes from plant sources: dried balls of crushed leaves are fermented and mixed with an alkaline solution, and the cloth is dipped repeatedly to deepen the shade.
